The National Park Nockberge: The gently rolling Nockberge Mountains, rising from the valley of the Lieser and extending towards the Turracher Höhe area, provide a unique Alpine mountain range in the heart of beautiful Carinthia. The name "Nocke" comes from the round shape of the softly rolling mountains and hills between 2,200m and 2,300m above sea level. Admire the varied fauna and flora of the stunning nature preserve which was awarded its status as National Park by the Carinthian authorities in 1987.

Der Nationalpark Donau-Auen, zwischen den europäischen Hauptstädten Wien und Bratislava gelegen, bewahrt auf mehr als 9.300 Hektar Fläche die letzte große Flussauen-Landschaft Mitteleuropas. Die hier noch frei fließende Donau ist auf ca. 36 km Fließstrecke die Lebensader des Nationalparks. Ihr dynamisches Wechselspiel mit Pegelschwankungen von bis zu 7 Metern gestaltet die Flussauen-Landschaft immer wieder neu. So schafft der Donaustrom Lebensräume für eine Vielzahl an Tieren und Pflanzen.

The National Park Thayatal guarantees, together with the Czech Národni park Podyjí the conservation of one of the most beautiful, romantic and biodiversity rich valley landscapes. There are not many places where such a diversity of flora and fauna can be found in a close space as here at the Thaya.
